Clobracon was trusted to construct this new institutional building of 6-storeys + 1 level of underground parking, as part of a major expansion of an existing private college. Clobracon had to contend with extremely difficult site conditions inherent with this site located on one of the busiest streets in the greater Montreal area, including complicated shoring and underpinning of existing buildings, poor soil conditions that necessitated driven pile foundations, as well as very limited storage and staging areas.
The superstructure was constructed of a steel frame along with deep metal decks filled with concrete, in order to allow for very long clear spans free of columns and beams. The exterior walls are a modern combination of glazed aluminum curtain wall and aluminum panels. Inside are numerous classrooms, chemistry and physic laboratories, computer laboratories, fitness areas, and assembly rooms.
