Inside, there are 35,000 sf of offices, classrooms, laboratories for chemistry and physics, computer labs, gyms and assembly halls. The superstructure is constructed from a steel frame with deep concrete filled steel bridges, to enable very long spans devoid of columns and beams. The exterior walls are a modern combination of curtain wall and aluminum panels and glass panels.
The customer has trusted Clobracon for building this new institutional 6 floors + 1 level of underground parking, as part of a major expansion of an existing private college. Clobracon had to navigate the extraordinarily difficult site, including complicated supporting and underpinning of existing adjacent buildings, poor soil conditions that required trained pile foundations and the very limited storage areas and area material handling. There was also the challenge of joining an existing building to a new one.
